Bruce Hackett is a seasoned writer with an insane passion for rock music. Born in the ’50s, raised on ’60s and ’70s classic rock, he has an encyclopedic knowledge of much of the music from that era and into the ’80s. Nice blog, however, your comment about the lyric to THIS GIRL IS A WOMAN NOW is ill-informed. My father was the late Victor Millrose (composer) and he made it clear to me that there was nothing “creepy” about this lyric as it was about a child’s parents hedging that their daughter had lost her virginity…and they were right. It’s funny how often I read a man’s take on this lyric as creepy and a woman’s take on it as beautiful. We hear what we hear.
